Establishment of Limerick Bat Group

One of JBA's lead ecologists, and bat expert, Tanya Slattery has followed her passion and established the Limerick Bat Group.  The first meeting was held on 2nd February in Limerick County Library, with monthly meetings planned to move around the city and county.

The aim of the group is to promote an awareness and interst in bats, their activities and conservation programmes and projects.  Future activities may involve bat walks and talks and local projects, depending on the level of interest and ideas of those attending the group.

If anyone is interested in joining the bat group, you can search for Limerick Bat Group on Facebook and follow the page there, and/or email limerickbatgroup@gmail.com to be kept up to date on any events, walks and training that might be coming up in and around Limerick.
