Trainee Civil CAD Technician

Due to the significant growth of our Engineering team in Limerick we have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Civil CAD Technician to join us to work on a variety of projects including national scale coastal and fluvial defence schemes and residential, healthcare, education, retail and civil infrastructure.  

Under the supervision of more senior technicians and engineers you will assist in the preparation of high quality engineering design drawings for a broad range of national civil engineering projects, including production of planning, tender and construction documents.  You will also carry out administrative tasks associated with delivering projects for a variety of clients in the public and private sectors.  All work will be carried out in accordance with the company ISO procedures, which include BIM protocols.

The role is based in Corbally, Limerick. 

Key competencies required for the role

The role would be ideally suited to a trainee with a passion for engineering, particualry within the built and environmental sectors.  The ideal candidate is a keen learner and looking to develop a career in the field of Civil Engineering within a small and supportive team.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a new team member with a minimum of Grade H3/B in Leaving Certificate Design and Communication Graphics. You must have good IT skills and be keen and willing to learn.

We are looking for someone who is also:

  • Able to understand and interpret instructions
  • Able to appreciate the requirements of tasks including working to deadlines
  • Able to be enthusiastic, apply care and diligence to execution of tasks.
  • Work effectively within a team
  • Be receptive to receipt of ‘on the job’ mentoring and support from colleagues across a range of technical disciplines, and to attending formal technical training.

It would also be advantageous to have:

  • Experience in AutoCAD or Solidworks 
  • Driving licence
