This training course covers all the essential aspects you will need to build, run and assess HEC-RAS 1D models. This 2-day course will build on real-world examples to help put theory into practice.

Course outcomes

On completion of the course delegates will be able to do the following:

• Construct a simple 1D steady state model with the inclusion of bridges, culverts and weirs
• Construct a simple 1D unsteady model using real world data including flood representation, lateral structures and online storage.
• Have working knowledge of how to view 1D results from HEC-RAS models.

Course Assumptions

• No prior knowledge or experience of HEC-RAS.
• Some knowledge of river modelling/hydraulics.
• Familiarisation with Windows-based software.
