JBA Consulting Ireland are looking to recruit an Assistant/Junior Ecologist to assist JBA’s ecologists in their new Dublin Office.

The main duties include:-

• Assisting with ecological survey work ranging from Habitat surveys to protected species surveys

• Working as part of a team of ecologists to help complete project work in an efficient and timely manner

• Working in both the field and office environments, field work will be performed across Ireland and may also include the UK, while office work is conducted from the Dublin office

• Reporting to the Team Manager and Senior Ecologist

The personal specification of the successful candidate:-

• At least 2 seasons of ecology work 

• Bird and/or Bat survey experience

• Report writing experience and GIS (ARC)

• Flexibility with working hours 

• A degree in a relevant scientific subject such as Ecology/Biology/Environmental Science

• Familiar with relevant Irish and European legislation

• A full driving licence

• A good team worker but also with the ability to perform certain key skills independently

Other advantageous qualities would be some level of CIEEM membership and additional qualifications such as an MSc.
