Civil CAD Technician

Due to the significant growth of our Engineering team in Limerick we have an exciting opportunity for a Civil CAD Technician to join us to work on a variety of projects including national scale coastal and fluvial defence schemes and residential, healthcare, education, retail and civil infrastructure.  

Under the supervision of more senior technicians and engineers you will assist in the preparation of high quality engineering design drawings for a broad range of national civil engineering projects.  You will assist in the preparation of planning, tender and construction documents.  All work will be carried out in accordance with the company ISO procedures, which include BIM protocols

Key competencies required for the role

The role would be ideally suited to a technician with experience working in a civil engineering design office and preferably hold a Higher Certificate (NFQ Level 6) in civil engineering or equivalent. The ideal candidate is a methodical worker with a great eye for detail and a desire to learn.

Who we’re looking for

Applicants would ideally have a minimum 1 years post-graduate experience in a design office assisting in the preparation of drawings for outline and detailed designs for civil or structural engineering projects.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • proficiency in the use of 2D Autodesk drafting packages (E.g. AutoCAD);
  • proficiency in the use of 3D Autodesk design software, in particular Civils 3D and Revit;
  • a proactive approach to solving problems with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios
  • excellent communication skills
  • proven commitment to CPD

It would also be advantageous to have:

  • understanding and working use of BS 1192:2007 Collaborative production of architectural, engineering and construction information
  • knowledge in Microsoft Office packages. 
  • working knowledge of BIM and its application within civil engineering, although full training will be provided;
  • driving licence
